1892 – BC CLARK “THE BIG WATCH JEWELER”
Benton Clyde Clark, better known as B.C. Clark, opened his first jewelry business in the back of a five-and-dime store Purcell in the territory that would later become Oklahoma. The shingle advertising his shop proudly announced, “B.C. Clark, The Big Watch Jeweler.” One key to the early success was repairing and inspecting watches for railroad employees. Eventually, the business grew, and he moved into his own store. Driven by a commitment to giving every customer an exceptional experience, our founder sparked a legacy that still shines brightly today in Oklahoma and beyond.
1905 – THE ROLEX LEGACY BEGINS
Like BC Clark, Rolex looks back on a storied history. Most people believe Rolex began when founder Hans Wilsdorf created the first waterproof wristwatch – the Oyster – in 1926. He developed it into a range of timepieces that have become icons of watchmaking. But the company’s origin dates back to 1905. The brand’s emergence forever changed the world of luxury watches. Since 1960, the company has been owned by the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, a private family trust. Today, Rolex still prioritizes innovation in precision engineering, revolutionizing the watch industry in the process.
1958 – BECOMING AN OFFICIAL ROLEX JEWELER
Dedicated to bringing customers the finest brands, BC Clark became an Official Rolex Jeweler in 1958. To this day, we feel honored and privileged to represent one of the finest watch brands in the world.
1963–2019 – EXPANDING THE ROLEX UNIVERSE
Under the leadership of the Clarks’ second, third, and fourth generations, BC Clark continued to grow, expanding to three Oklahoma City locations. BC Clark became synonymous with quality, value, and service and Oklahoma’s source for fine jewelry and luxury timepieces. Rolex became one of the most popular brands in our stores. Meanwhile, Rolex also experienced tremendous growth, releasing many of its most iconic models, such as the Daytona, Submariner, Datejust, and Explorer.
2019 – ROLEX AVAILABLE IN-STORE AND ONLINE
In 2019, we launched a brand-new online presence dedicated to showcasing Rolex, allowing us to offer a wide assortment of Rolex watches to our customers anywhere in the world. Of course, you can always visit us at our dedicated Rolex showrooms at our stores.
2020 – THE ROLEX EXPERIENCE COMES TO CLASSEN CURVE
In 2020, we opened our largest BC Clark location yet at Classen Curve in Oklahoma City. Part of the new store is a stunning Rolex showroom offering a one-of-a-kind Rolex buying experience with a private consultation area.
2022 – A BIGGER, BETTER ROLEX SHOWROOM DOWNTOWN OKC
Come see our showstopping, new Rolex showroom at our newly remodeled downtown location. This space takes your Rolex shopping experience to a new level.
